Died : All India Radio's Ex Deputy Director

M S Rukmini, former Deputy Director, All India Radio, died at a private hospital here on Sunday, family sources said. She was 64 and survived by two children. 
Rukmini, popularly known as Rani, started her career with the public broadcaster as news reader in Malayalam section of the AIR in Delhi in the 1970s. 
She had served AIR and Doordarshan in various capacities including as Doordarshan Thiruvanathapuram Kendra's Director. 
She had also worked as Director of DD Kendras in Bangalore and Ahmedabad. 
She had been undergoing treatment for cancer for about a year. She was admitted to the hospital a few days back, after her condition deteriorated a few days back
